Goodbye Tyson

Friday went down in the books as one of the hardest days. We had to say goodbye to our best friend Tyson. For the past few weeks she has slowed down to the point where she can't even get up sometimes without help. Most days she would lay on her bed and not even move. Usually the first to charge to the door when Jason got home, she couldn't even muster enough energy to greet him. We were putting off the inevitable but finally decided to take her to the vet. That is when we heard the news we were dreading. She had a severe case of cancer and was in a lot of pain. I got the call from Jason while I was driving with the kids. Trying to hide my uncontrollable tears (Ryden gets upset when people cry), I told him we would be right home. Teresa dropped everything to come watch the kids while Jason and I went to say goodbye for the final time. At the vet's office, they brought her into a little room where we could spend a few last minutes with her. I immediately broke down when I saw her. All the times I had yelled at her, or not stopped to pet her, or been too busy for her came flooding into my mind. Why wasn't I nicer to her? Why didn't I pay more attention to her after the kids came around? Why did I always get annoyed with her when she wasn't doing anything but wanting some extra love? I laid down next to her and proceeded to tell her I was sorry for all that and I loved her so much! Then it was time. I was holding her paw when she took her last breath. I could barely breathe myself because I was crying so much. Just one more day! One more hour! One more game of soccer! I cried the rest of the day and continue to cry every time I get reminded of her. Today I was cleaning Molly's poops in the backyard. I saw a few of Tyson's piles left behind and started bawling. Needless to say, those poops are still in the backyard. I couldn't bring myself to pick them up. We miss her everyday but know she is in a better place. I can honestly say she was the best dog I have ever been around. We love and miss you very very much Tyson Miguel!!

FAVORITE TOY: Blankets. Loves to put them over his face and play peek-a-boo.

FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Doing tummy time in front of the mirror so he can look at himself. Playing peek-a-boo...so cute...he will actually put the blanket over his head and then pull it away and smile when I say peek-a-boo

MILESTONES: Sitting up for a few seconds. Standing while holding onto something for a few seconds. Eating big boy food

DISLIKES: Spitting up hence the bib he is wearing in the picture. We change outfits at least twice a day!

SLEEP PATTERN: NO COMMENT!! Still having issues. Past few nights I get up once to put the pacifier back in and then once more to feed. Then around 6ish he will usually come snuggle with us and sleep for a little longer. I need to stop doing that because I don't want him to get used to that but I will admit that I love morning snuggle time.

For my birthday Teresa and I took the kiddos to the zoo. Going to the zoo with her is a blast because we walk the entire park to make sure we see everything. I've been so many times but I always seem to see something new when she's with me. Ryden had so much fun also because Grandma was there. Trevin pretty much played peek-a-boo with himself to keep entertained

We rode on the double decker bus that takes you around the park. It was nice and relaxing until we dropped Brobee a few minutes in and had to hear about it the entire time. We thought it was lost forever but thank goodness we were sitting on the top floor so it landed on the floor below us

Final stop? The chimps....Ryden loved this area and even had some face time with a few monkey's (which I didn't get a picture of). He also liked climbing this bamboo pole

Yesterday I had a birthday play date for my friend Claire (that's what happens when you get older....instead of bar hopping we have play dates...nice) There were 13 kids under the age of three at my house. It was crazy...but fun crazy. Trevin even got to have some of his homies over. Mainly, his older woman Ainsley. We sat them in front of each other and Ainsley was in awe. She grabbed for his hand....Trevin smiled

Christmas in Tucson

A little late with this post but here are a few pics from Christmas in Tucson. As always, Ryden had a blast with his cousins and all the angry birds. And Trev was pretty happy with all the attention as well

Since Trevin has had some issues sleeping at night (wakes up 2-3 times a night), the pediatrician recommended we start rice cereal. Already? So that's what we did. Just as I expected...he hated it! After two days of feedings, we switched to regular baby food. The cereal was upsetting his stomach and making him majorly constipated (TMI). It was also making him sleep worse at night. So let's see how the regular baby food goes.

Christmas in Cali

Since we spent Christmas day in AZ, we celebrated Christmas in Cali a few days before with Teresa, Mel, and Nick. We made the mistake of letting Ryden open his cheap pack of skateboards and that was it. That's all he cared about. Poor other presents sat unwrapped while he kickflipped and blut stalled.

WEIGHT: 14.2 lbs

FAVORITE TOY: Anything that he can grab onto and put in his mouth. This boy chews on everything!

FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Bouncing in the jumper. Talking to his brother. Staring at his brother. Now that he can hold his head up he likes to be on his tummy

MILESTONES: Holding his head up all the way. Rolling from tummy to back. "Standing up" while I hold on to him of course.

DISLIKES: The car seat!!! I forgot how much I dislike this stage. When your baby is screaming and there is nothing you can do about it because you are driving....the worst!!! As long as he has a backseat buddy he is ok.

SLEEP PATTERN: This one is hard for me because I keep comparing him to Ryden who was pretty much sleeping through the night by now. This one is not. I got about a week of him only waking up once. And now we are back to waking up twice a night. But I shouldn't complain because he will eat and go right back to sleep. And he is such a good boy so I don't mind at all.

Our Disney passes expire the beginning of January so we had to go one more time. It is my favorite time to go to Disneyland because it is all decked out for Christmas. Although it was cold and crowded, we still had the best time! Ryden still loved Small World (as did Teresa)... Trevin could care less. Seemed every time we were on a ride he was snoozin'

Another Ryden favorite? The teacups! Jason had to go on these solo. Teresa and I both would have barfed in our teacup...We don't do dizzy

Fun day with Papa Mike and Auntie

Papa Mike came to visit and Ryden was so cited to see him! And as a bonus, Auntie came to hang out too! So we all headed to Legoland to have some fun. Of course it was all decked out for Christmas and it was a super nice day. See if you can spot the skateboards in the above picture. That was the first thing Ryden pointed out to me. Someones obsessed

In the first two minutes that we got to Legoland, Trevin spit up all over his shirt. I am QUEEN of not packing an extra outfit. Thank goodness he was wearing an undershirt although he had to smell like barf the rest of the day. He didn't see to mind

I usually go with my mommy friends which is a little difficult with both boys so it was nice to have several people to go on the rides with Ryden. He loved it

Jason and his dad decided to try out THE CLAW! Notice my fancy abstract picture. I focused on the branch instead of their scared faces (ok that was an accident)

Christmas time means Christmas lights so we decided to take a hayride around Del Mar because they have it all decked out. Ryden dug it for about 2 minutes and then was over it because the hay was 'poking him'. I thought it was awesome! Trevin was like 'whatever'

After asking Santa for skateboards, Ryden thought he would get them right away. I had to explain we had to wait until Christmas. He wasn't convinced so I distracted him by taking him to H&M to ride up and down the elevator. Problem solved. It's the little things. Loved this Santa by the way. He told Ryden "Now when Mama asks you to go to bed you cannot fuss". It's like he knew we were having bedtime issues...too bad Santa's words didn't stick. Ho Ho Ho!

WEIGHT: 13lbs
FAVORITE TOY: Still loves the jungle mat. He would sit under that thing for hours if you let him. And he will "talk" so much while he is under it. Sometimes the talking turns into shouting because he's so excited
FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Loves watching his bro. He stares at him and smiles all the time. Loves talking and smiling
MILESTONE: Holding his head up almost on his own. He can now face forward in the Bjorn which he loves! He 'stands' up too. When I have him on my lap he will lock his legs so he is in a standing position.
DISLIKES: Tummy time. He used to love it and now seems to get frustrated when he is on his tummy. Starting to really dislike the car seat as well.
SLEEP PATTERNS: So about a week and a half ago we graduated to his big boy crib. So now he sleeps in his very own room and guess what? He sleeps so much better which means WE sleep so much better. He is in bed around 8...wakes up around 2 to eat, then right back asleep...and then he is up at around 6. Usually I can feed him again, take him back to our room, and he cuddles with me on my chest until around 7. Ryden crawls in bed with us also so the whole fam is in our bed from 6-7 for a sleep in session.
We are in such a good routine now. Took a few months to establish it but we are rockin' it. My boys are amazing. I am a lucky mama

This year we stayed in Cali for turkey day and our friends came to visit from Reno. Scott and Leslie have a 6 month old daughter who shares a birthday with Ryden. We had so much fun with them and Ryden loved little Annika. The day after Thanksgiving we took them to Sea World which was decked out for Christmas. Too bad it felt more like summer. It was about 80 degrees!

Ryden LOVED watching the Atlantis ride. He would crack up and yell when the ride plummeted down the hill and made a big splash. Once, he even stood to close to the splash zone and got a little wet

And of course the Shamu show. Once again, Ryden loved watching Shamu soak everyone. Thought it was the funniest thing

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving but missed Teresa, Mel, and Nick. They were all sick (and I was too!) Dang flu season!

Tucson

Jason had to go to China for a week so I headed to Tucson for some family time. Ryden loved hanging with the cousins and I loved having help with the two boys while Jason was gone. Here are the many things we did

We went and saw a real Choo Choo train. Too bad the loud whistle scared the daylights out of the kids

We went to church and played in the rain

We hung out with GG and Papa

We celebrated 40th wedding anniversary's and Papa's birthday with homemade angry bird cards

My dad so graciously watched Trevin while Jason and I took Ryden to his first concert. And it happened to be the BEST concert ever!!! Ok, maybe I had a tad bit more fun than Ryden....but what a show! Dancing, singing, beat boxing, confetti flying, dancey dances, and parties in our tummies. Too bad Ry held his ears most of the show. "Too loud" was all he said.

I'M TWO AND A HALF!!

Ryden is officially a big two and a half year old. Here are some Ryden tidbits:

1) He is fully potty trained except for at night. That is the only time we wear a diaper. He will even go potty on his own without telling us. All of a sudden he runs naked into the living room carrying his underwear saying "I went potty"

2) He talks our ears off! And he remembers so much which means you have to watch what you say. He makes me laugh every single day

3) Loves loves Blues Clues. He has his little notebook that he carries around and will re-enact the entire show word for word.

4) Loves skateboarding even more. He has his ramps and mini skateboards that he is always playing with doing all the cool tricks Daddy taught him. Blunt slides, tail grinds, 50/50's, etc. He is perfectly content playing alone in his room

5) He is the best big brother. Always lovin' on his little bro. Very gentle and caring towards him.

6) He impresses the ladies. I took him for his 2 1/2 checkup and the nurses just doted on him the entire time. "look at his shoes!" "He's wearing a belt!" "his eyes and smile!" He just stood there and modeled while they paid him compliment after compliment

7) When he is throwing a fit I will give him a look and he will say "Someone is tired" or "I need to take a quiet time"

8) He is really such a good boy. If he does throw a fit its always at home. Out in public he is a perfect little man.

9) He knows he is 2 1/2 and will let you know. When we were driving out to Tucson I told my dad we only have 2 1/2 hours left of driving. Ryden piped in from the back "I'm TWO AND A HALF!"

10) He knows how to count. Put several objects in front of you and he will count how many there are.

We love you very much Ryden. What an awesome little man you are turning into

Oh YES I did! I went to the So You Think You Can Dance concert and loved every minute of it. And yes I will go next year also. Thank you J for staying home with the two monsters so I could watch people dance and dream that I could be that talented.

Trevin.....not so much

This was our first year we actually took Ryden trick or treating. First year he was too small and second year we were driving home from Katie's awesome wedding. So you can imagine how excited Jason and I were also. It was SO much fun to watch Ryden go up to each house, quietly tap the door, and hold out his bucket saying 'trick or treat'. Most people would just hold the bucket out for him to choose some candy and he was always so careful to just pick one piece unless otherwise told. Occasionally, I saw him sneak an extra lollipop.

My favorite was when we came to the house below he said:

"Ryry can't go there. It's too spooky!"

So we skipped that house and moved on. I think he did pretty good for his first time.

RYDEN SHREDS THE CARLSBAD SKATEPARK!

I've been taking Ryden to the skatepark a lot, but he always wants to sit and watch the other kids. He finally got the courage and said "Ry Ry do it" so he jumped on the board and did some 'cool tricks'. Grandma was there and snapped some photos with her Iphone. It was RADICAL!

FAVORITE TOY: The jungle mat. Just like his brother when he was a baby.
FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Watching people talk to him.
MILESTONE: "Talking". He coos all the time. It is adorable! Smiling, grabs for stuff, gives you pounds, turns head to the direction a voice is coming from
DISLIKE: Not too much this kid dislikes. He's not a huge fan of the pacifier which we shove in his mouth a lot to sooth him. He usually spits it out after a few minutes
SLEEP: The past few weeks have been pretty rough because he has been sick. Still waking up about twice a night. The first stretch is awesome. Usually sleeps for 4-5 hours, feeds and goes right back down. The second half he has such a hard time getting back into that deep sleep. Plus, being sick hasn't helped. Hopefully, we are almost past the sickness and can settle into a nice night routine.

The kiddies got to dress up for Halloween at preschool and everyone brought in treats. Then they all took turns trick or treating with each other. It was cute and chaotic at the same time. They did pretty good considering they are two! And I am so surprised we even managed the picture above. One of the moms was doing this crazy loud pitch yell to get the kids to look. Her kid is the only one that is smiling (the pirate). And superman doesn't seem impressed.

This past weekend we headed up to Julian for some Apple pie and pumpkin picking. The weather said it was going to be a cool 70 degrees. It was 95!! But we still had fun. Ryden even got to pick out his very own pumpkin.

So we had this great plan to take a trip up to Disneyland but after some back and forth decisions, we decided to go to Legoland instead. It was just TOO hot to truck Trevin all around Disney, not to mention the hour drive and waiting in lines, so we headed to Legoland instead. It's right down the road so we could leave if it got to unbearable. It was fun! We rode rides, splashed in water, and hung out with Ayla and the cousins. I didn't get a lot of pictures but here are a few.

We were so excited that Emma was in California for her 2nd birthday so we had to party of course. We all headed out to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate with the pretty birthday girl. Emma had on her new birthday outfit...she LOVED her pink shoes. Ryden loved the dancing and skee ball (tounge out in both pictures...awesome)

The Great Pumpkin

Last Wednesday we headed to the Pumpkin Patch. It happened to be the HOTTEST day ever!!! Although it was super cute, we were all sweating and miserable. We managed to pet some animals, pose by pumpkins, and ride some rides before we had melt-down city (from me!)

Since Trev always has to hang out with his bro's friends I figured it was time to have a playdate with his homies. So Luka, Ainsley, and Adalyn cruised over and they all "played". Can't wait to watch them all grow up and be friends like their brothers and sisters.

Since the cousins are in town, we headed to the Safari Park to brave the warm weather. It sure was a hot one but the kids had a blast looking at all the animals and running around. Trevin just hung out not making a peep. I swear he is the most chill kid around

The Davies are in town which means BOY CITY! Ryden is in heaven having his cousin's sleep on the floor in his room. I asked him if he wanted to have a slumber party and he started jumping up and down saying 'YAY SLUMBER PARTY' (as if he even knows what that means). Uncle Jason was the official bedtime story reader. We brought Emma into the mix but she didn't want any part in the boy party.

Last weekend we had a few visitors. Great Grandpa Don, Great Grandma Pam, Grandpa Mike, Cousin Madison, and Uncle Tommy. They drove down from LA to hang and have lunch with us. Ry loved Madison! She was such a good sport entertaining him. Even Pam got sucked into the swing pushing

Since I had to miss my friend Cheryl's birthday dinner on Thursday, Jason was nice enough to watch the kids on Friday while I went out with the girls. We went to Belly Up in Encinitas and watched a disco band. We drank a few beers and danced to YMCA. And I was home by 8:30pm. So much fun! Thank you J for letting me shake my groove thing and thank you Hun for driving us!

We attended the Miramar annual Air show which was to satisfy my new found interest in flying + let Ry check out some cool planes. Although somewhat un-organized, we had an awesome time!! If great grandpa Clyde was still here - he would have loved to join! Also, props to great grandpa Don (air force) who was stoked we went!

FAVORITE TOY: His sleep giraffe that makes white noise. It really helps him go to sleep.
FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Watching his big brother play. Eating. Tummy time
MILESTONE: When he is on his tummy he can switch his head from side to side. He also can hold his head up for quite a long time. Strong boy
DISLIKE: Gas! Only time the little guy complains is when his little tummy hurts.
SLEEP PATTERNS: Love this little one. He usually goes to bed around 8 or 9pm...sleeps til about 1am, eats and back to bed. Then back up at 4am, eats but then usually is a little restless. From 4-6am we sometimes have trouble getting back into a deep sleep. But only waking up twice is pretty darn good for a newborn! I can't believe Trevin is already a month old!

Reece & Trevin....new Bff's. Reece is my friend Lindsey's new baby and he is about two weeks older than Trevin. Since most of Trevin's friends are girls, its nice for him to have a homie to kick it with. The downfall is he lives about an hour away.

Trevin still continues to be a super chill baby. Wakes up about twice a night, eats, and then back to bed. Sometimes, he likes to stay up for an hour or so before going back to sleep which makes for a long night but I'm not complaining. He rarely cried but the past couple of evenings we have been introduced to a 'witching hour'. At around 6pm he will just start crying off and on for about an hour. Nothing calms him down until he finally passed out. That is really the only time he makes any kind of a fuss. Ryden is getting used to having his brother around. When I bring Trevin up in the morning, Ry gets a huge smile on his face and says "it's Trevin! He's my favorite!" Melt my heart. Love both of these boys to death!

The weather has been amazing so we ventured out to the pool. Ry had a blast playing in the water with Dada and Papa. My mom and I had a blast sittin' in the shade with the little one. His first major trip anywhere.

And so it begins again. The monthly pictures!! Since he's only zero I will give just a few updates. As of today, Trev is 5 days old and just an amazing baby! I know we are still in the super newborn phase but he is so calm and alert. I never hear a peep from him unless he is hungry and even then it's just a short cry. My milk didn't come in fast enough so I had to give him formula which I am not too happy about but he seems to be doing fine. We are now doing as much breast milk as we can and then formula when necessary because he seems to want to eat more than I can provide. He has been doing awesome at nights but maybe that is because I let him sleep on my chest (probably a big no-no but I LOVE it!) Most nights he only wakes up to eat and then Mama puts him back to sleep. A few times he was up from 4-5am but all he did was look around. No crying or fussing at all. We are seriously in love with this little one and are so happy he is finally here. Big shout out to my parents for staying with us and helping. Mostly for entertaining Ryden. He sure loves having them around. We even convinced them to stay until Wednesday so get as much play time in as you can RyRy. Then it's time for the real world. Me with two boys...solo! Scary but I am ready!

He's finally here and only a day past his due date. Jason and I were under the impression that he would be super late like his brother so when I started contracting at midnight I didn't think anything of it. Just normal cramps right? A half an hour later my water broke. Then I knew it was time. Super Aunt Melinda came to our rescue and drove about 45 minutes to come stay with Ryden while we headed to the hospital. We checked in around 4am and then the waiting began. I was only 3cm dilated so began the walking. I will spare all of the major details but around 6cm I decided I would go for the epidural. All was well for a few more hours but I wasn't progressing very fast. Doctor discussed giving me Pitocin to speed up delivery but I wanted to wait it out for a little longer. Then, for some reason the epidural seemed to wear a little and the pain was a little intense (to say the least!). The nurse ran in and I had dilated from 6cm to 9cm in about 30 minutes. Time to push....eleven minutes later Trevin arrived.

My parents were great. I called them at around 1am when I went into labor and they were headed to Cali a short time later. They stayed with Ry to relieve Melinda and Teresa.

40 Weeks

So this post is a little late. We all know Trevin made his big debut one day after his due date (post to come soon about that). I was honestly expecting to go another week with him in my belly like his big brother did. But he had other ideas. Good thing because I was so ready!

A few Ryden updates

- Ry is getting ready to be a big brother. He talks to my belly and gives it kisses.

- We installed the car seat in the car and Ryden always points to it and says "Trevin's seat"

- We are doing awesome on the potty training! He wears big boy pants whenever we are at home and never pees in them. We just need to work on him telling us when he has to go. Then I think we can venture out in public with underwear on. The other downfall is he will not poop in the potty. Seems to stress him out a little bit.

- He has adjusted like a champ to his big boy bed but his bedtime seems to be getting later and later. That is why we try to do early naps.

- He talks so clearly now and I laugh at the things he says. He picked up my bra the other day and said "Mama's boobies"

- The boy loves his temporary tattoos as you can tell. Dada gave him a sleeve the other day

- He loves his little pool. He will play outside for hours! The weather has been amazing here so its nice to just hang outside all afternoon.

Pax rolls into town

The Izzets came to town from Phoenix for a quick weekend visit. On Saturday, I met up with them at Legoland. Ryden and Pax were so funny together. Lots of hugs, holding hands, and sharing snacks. We had the best time! Jade and Adam were super impressed with the mini lands made out of Lego's...I was bored. Ha!

Jade and I were watching the boys while they played in the play area. They got out of our sight and when they rounded the corner we found them holding hands. We cracked up!

We also managed to ride a few rides and play on some slides

By 2pm we were all tuckered out (Jade is preggers too..due in January) so we headed back to my house. The boys played in the backyard for a few hours straight while we watched. The swings were a hit

The next morning the boys seemed to do a complete 180. Pax was wanting to wrestle with Ryden and of course Ry is my sensitive Sally and would cry when he did this. They were both in moods. No more sharing, holding hands, or hugging. Oh well...at least we got one good day. Thanks for visiting guys....see you soon hopefully!

It's all becoming more real. Jason and I are going to be the parents of two boys in less than a month! This pregnancy has flown by and lets hope the last month does as well. Every thing is fine with my placenta which means I will not need a C-section unless for other reasons. My bag is almost fully packed and ready for the hospital (babe can come anytime now although we hope he doesn't). We are very excited to meet this little one but everything also seems a little surreal. But we are ready. Let's do this!

Last night we headed out to Poinsettia Park to enjoy some jazz music. As I suspected, Ryden LOVED it! He was just hanging out on the grass but as soon as the band started...so did his dancing shoes!

We headed to a petting zoo yesterday with our good friend Julie and her three kids. Her two daughters are so great with Ryden and he adores them

We had a good time feeding the animals although I am not to fond of guinea pigs after growing up with them. My sister Sara had one that did nothing but stink and eat paper. But Ry loved them. So did Julie's kiddos

The fam came out to SD for 4th of July like they do every year so we got to go hang out with them at Mission Beach. It was a calm 4th filled with beach time, family time, and margarita time. I was slacking on my picture taken skills. Ryden and I went down to visit again a few days after 4th and I managed to get a few more photos.

We rented a boat again today and took it out for a quick spin. Ryden had a blast except for the fact that he had to wear a life vest. Not a fan! But he did make sure to dress in his coolest 80's gear for the day

The water was super choppy which made for quite a bumpy ride. We were all holding on for dear life with crazy Jason driving. But we had a few relaxing moments as well

Teresa was the only one brave enough to jump in. I would have but no one would have been able to pull me back in!

Now lets just hope my husband is not on Craig's list looking for a boat to buy!

32 Weeks!

HOLY COW! Did I swallow several basketballs? And why do I look so scared?? Ok these pictures are getting worse and worse but only 8 more weeks to go! Still doing good. Even after walking all over NYC. I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore though. Just want to meet the new boy already! I am still so tired and have zero energy during the day but still try to do fun activities to keep Ry entertained. I also blame it on the heat (I hear all my AZ peeps moaning right now as I complain about the 80 degree weather while they are stuck with 115 degree days). But carrying an extra 20 pounds sure does make a difference. But for the most part I am happy and still lovin' my little belly (ok HUGE belly) Trevin is so active...always moving (except when Aunties try to feel). I can imagine how cramped he is. Two more months buddy!

Our third and final day was spent walking (of course) around Hoboken, NJ with our good friends Katie and Max. They are getting married about a week before my due date so I can't attend. It was nice to see them one last time before they are husband and wife. We had such a great time! Such a cool little town!

New York City...is so pretty...DAY ONE

Our first day in New York was spent hanging out with Aunt Cody while Dada worked. We must've walked 20 miles, seen every water fountain possible, and explored all of New York! I will let the pictures do the talking

Fun for Ryden at the Children's Museum

There was a super cute kids museum right by our hotel in Palm Desert. It wasn't crowded at all so Ry got to explore and play with lots of cool stuff.

SWIMMING!!

We decided to pick up and go to Palm Desert for Father's day weekend. My friend Julie recommended a resort that had a great pool area for kids. We spent the first half of the day splashing and soaking up the sun!

The water was a perfect temperature and Ryden loved being in the pool and playing with his monster truck. This was awesome because J and I could just sit on the steps and watch him at the same time. Such a chill kid we have.

Big Boy Bed

A couple of days ago we made the transition from crib to big boy bed. I've heard a few horror stories from other parents that their kids would get out of bed in the middle of the night and want to party..etc. I was more worried about him falling out because he tends to be a 'crazy move positions all night' sleeper. But Ry was a champion! Slept the whole night, didn't fall off the bed, and didn't even get off his bed until I came to get him in the morning. He's done great every other night so far. This morning was the first time he actually came into our room at 6am. He went to Daddy's side of the bed and we said good morning. He then said 'Ryden making toots' and then ran back to his room and went back on his bed for about 20 more minutes. Awesome!

Big Boy Underwear (and karate kicks)

We decided to start (slowly) potty training. Usually in the afternoons the diaper comes off and Ry runs around in his skives. Every half hour or so we would go to the potty and he would go every single time! The past few days Ry has been sick (another cold!!!) so we have put a halt on the training for now...he just wasn't into it and had a few accidents which he never had before. We will see what happens once we get rid of this darn cold! But all in all I am very impressed with my little (big) boy!

I cannot believe how blessed I am to have all of these people in my life. It's so nice to feel so loved and have such great friends! I love each and every one of them! Thank you all for making me feel so special

So I made it to the third trimester! It's all downhill from here. This is a HORRIBLE picture of me but whatev. I'm feeling good but I still need to take an afternoon nap to function properly. I have my 'pregnancy mask' which makes the dark spots on my face even darker (which you can see in the picture). I am huge! Don't know how my stomach can handle three more months of growing. My placenta is still a tiny bit low but the doctor still thinks it will rise due to more growing. If not, it will just mean I have to have a C-section. I went in for my glucose testing and results came back normal. WOO HOO! I had gestational diabetes with Ry so this was excellent news for me to hear. No pricking my finger to check my blood sugar every day. Other than that, we are just truckin' along. Ry is fully aware of his little brother. Even kissing my tummy and saying 'brother gonna cry' (trying to warn him now about that). I know he will be an excellent big brother.
