Ryden's favorites- 9 weeks old

Here are a few of Ryden's favorite things to do at nine weeks old:

Looking at his fish aquarium. It plays music and the fish blow bubbles...coooool!

He loves tummy time although sometimes he will move his head to the middle and get stuck. Can't breathe!

Staring at his mobile in his crib. Shapes turn around and around...totally cool!!!

There is a video of him watching his mobile at the bottom. Nothing crazy exciting happened but he is still super cuteness!

Smirking

sucking on his hands

Sleeping in his big boy crib at night. Bedtime is around 7:30 or 8:00 and then he sleeps until 4:00am...feeds...and sleeps until about 6:30...love him!

Pulling on his shirt

And laughing...lots and lots of laughing

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who allows me to be a stay at home mom...the best job I ever applied for! I love being able to see this little man every single day...all day

FAMILY REUNION - LAKE ALMANOR

So... Amy has been bugging me to update the BLOG and since we just returned from a week long adventure in a NorCal cabin (of sorts) I thought I would share some pics and details with you.. Last Saturday July 18th, we loaded up the car (baby and mom included) and headed north for the 1st annual Guinon (mothers maiden name) family reunion. After picking up my kid sis in Sacramento(s) the freshmaker capital of CALI (inside joke thats actually not that comical), we ventured on to Lake Almanor and arrived at our 4 bedroom cabin (aka manufactured home). After settling in - we met up with the 32 other Guinon's and the reunion began. Present were my mothers 3 sisters, 3 brothers and their 20 children in which some of them have children. Sounds confusing - well it was. We actually had to study up on our cousins and 2nd cousins names during the 12 hour drive, which actually made the time go by quickly. At the 'head of the table' was my grandma and grandpa who were overjoyed at the site of their entire family in one place (hasn't occurred since Christmas ~ 1987). Long story short, my grandparents held their first great-grandson (they have 4 great grand daughters already), we played on the beach, talked, wake boarded, jet skied, water skied, drank, talked more, danced, and karate kicked through the week of fun. All and all it was great seeing all of the family and we look forward to next years REUNION de AWESOMENESS.
Bambi and her family spent a lot of time chillin' outside our cabin.
El Capitan aka AWESOME UNCLE Chris.
"Baby with the power, what power, power of the babe"

Jason and Buck hanging out.. Jason timidly says "Let me know if you see him move"

Moms/Grandma T-dawg and Aunt Mel doing an amazing job babysitting while Amy has an entire glass of wine.

Our Gramps having a BLAST! He was actually breakdancing moments later - no joke!

He thinks the word "poopy" is funny too.. That's our boy.

Who did I marry - Chesty Macgee or Wendy Whoppers - Its a family show Amy.

Guinon family in order of age and coolness: Rick, Bruce, Marylee, Teresa, Janet, Maureen, and Chris. Just kidding Uncle C!

What - did you actually think you would make it through the blog without a karate kick picture? Peep Brodie's kung-fu stance in the background.

2 months old!

Our little guy is two months old as of yesterday. He is getting so big and changes every day!

He has started "talking" a lot now. Sometimes I can't believe the sounds that he makes came from him. He also is holding his head up for longer periods of time and has started to turn over on his side. He desperately wants to walk and talk like a big boy but mommy tells him he needs to stay little forever. He loves when people talk and sing to him. But one of his favorite things to do is listen to stories. So far, Grandma T-Dawg is the winner at story telling!

To GG

While in San Diego, the best way to get Mr. Ryden to sleep was to lay him on GG's pink pillow. He would pass out within seconds and sleep happily. So now that I am at home with him and no pink pillow in sight I decided to try to put him on my pillow. It isn't GG's pink pillow but it seemed to do the trick. Notice the band aids on his little legs. He got his vaccinations today. The brave boy cried for about 10 seconds and then was done. Love him. I think I cried longer than him...haha!

I was looking through some old baby pictures of me and I can see where Ryden gets his big mouth from:

Family time in San Diego

Every year most of my family comes to San Diego for the 4th of July so I had a full week of family time. I had a whole house of baby hogs which was wonderful! I had so much time to myself that I started to miss Ryden a little :)
I loved being able to leave the boy with the three best babysitters in the world so I could actually lay out in the sun and get some color! My legs were the same color as a sheet of paper I swear! GG, Aunt Chris and Uncle Dale were so good with Ryden and he loved loved them!!! They even helped me keep him on schdule. Eat....play...sleep....eat...play...sleep
Fourth of July was pretty calm. We stayed around the bay and just hung out. I had my first beer in almost a year. Only one though and then I was done! I didn't even make it long enough to see the fire works because my bedtime is around 8:30 with Ryden. Jason went to the beach for a little bit with the cousins and I think that was the only time we went over there. We mostly stayed by the bay so that I could relieve the babysitters if needed. My cousin Elyse only got to stay for a few days and we were very sad when she had to leave. My other cousin Katie and I pretty much spent the rest of the week around each other 24/7. Any time I needed to pass off Ryden she would be the first one to grab him. The last day we rented a stand up surf board paddle thingy (don't actually know the real name) and it was tons of fun! I thought I would be horrible at it because I don't have the greatest balance in the world but I was surprisingly ok at it. Even Uncle Dale tried it out and did pretty well. Jason of course had to do a karate kick off of it. I managed to see the fireworks on the very last day which was way passed my bedtime.
I miss them all so much! I wish they could stay for the rest of the summer....just when I actually started to get a little color! HA! Ryden ADORED his whole family and was so happy the entire time they were here.

Uncle Dale and Jason...Airspeed for LIFE!

Ryden loved his Aunt Katie the baby hog and also loved looking at himself in the mirror (just like daddy!)
The traditional 4th of July attire! So hot Aunt Chris!

We made sure Elyse got to hold Ryden a lot since this was her last night in San Diego. My cousins are naturals with babies.
BFF! I miss her!
Isn't he the cutest?
Uncle Dale the babysitter did P90X daily with Ryden to build his muscles!
Didn't you get the "Big Glasses" memo?
GG and Jason. GG was the one who nagged Jason enough to propose to me..HAHAH..thanks GG!

Another great karate kick picture. Thank you Maddie for being a model.

Katie and I began to name all of Ryden's cute poses. This one is his "Super Model" pose.

Being silly
Frank and Cindy took us to eat at the San Diego Yacht Club....yummy!

GG making the boy smile

I love this smile and I get to see it all day long.

Surf's up!
