Memorial weekend

What a better way to spend the weekend then in an awesome pool in our backyard! And what pool is complete without a dolphin slide and blow up palm trees. Yes that's right. We blew up the kiddie pool and let Ryden run amuck in the backyard. He had a blast! He must have crawled in and out of the pool at least 50 times. On several occasions he even dunked his head under water. Jason and I joined in on the fun as well.

Kitchen Remodel de amor!

Amy wanted me to post kitchen remodel pics although its not as exciting as Ryden's B-day party or even Molly's high hops... But here we go anyways.. Pa came out to visit and we tricked him into a lot of labor intensive duties :) We took care of the DEMO ourselves which lasted 10 hours and involved man labor which was new to me, but I enjoyed playing construction worker for the day. After the demo, a company came in and installed the cabinets and granite while Pa supervised. Pa also added in rope lighting above the cabinets, track lighting across the ceiling, and pendant lighting above the island. He was a ROCKSTAR and we rewarded him with steak and beer. I'M 12 MONTHS OLD!!!

Ok this is a really bad picture but it was the best I could do since he wasn't feeling well on his 12 month birthday (and yes I am a day late with this post)
WEIGHT: 21lbs
HEIGHT: going to dr tomorrow
FAVORITE TOY: Loves Lego's and loves watching Daddy build cool stuff with Legos
FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Walking up the stairs (not crawling), banging on stuff, reading Green Eggs and Ham, dancing, watching Gabba
MILESTONES: Well turning one is a pretty big milestone but he can now walk up stairs if holding someones hand. Can stand up from a sitting position without having to grab onto anything. Got two top teeth and has another one coming in.
DISLIKES: Sleeping in, teething (this top tooth seems to be giving him so much trouble), not getting what he wants...he will throw a fit!
MOM'S FAVORITE: Yesterday when he was sick, I was in the other room and I could hear him calling out "MAMA"...when I went in the room he reached out his arms for me. Melted my heart!
DAD'S FAVORITE: When he rests his head on Daddy's shoulder. When he walks into your arms to give you a hug
GRANDPA'S FAVORITE: While grandpa was here he said "I'm gonna tickle you". Ryden got a huge smile on his face and instead of running the other way, he ran straight into grandpa's arms to get tickled.

80's corner....

Happy 1st Birthday to our boy!

Our little man turned one today and yesterday we had his fiesta. The theme.....80's baby! We told everyone to come dressed in 80's gear and boy....people didn't hold back! Everyone looked super radical and it was a pretty tubular party. Poor Ryden wasn't feeling super great so he wasn't his usual happy self. Most pictures are missing his perfect smile but I also think he was a little overwhelmed with all the love and attention. It was so nice to have everyone come out and celebrate. Ry is lucky to have such wonderful people in his life. And I think his favortie birthday present was having Grandpa all to himself for a whole week! We can't believe that it has already been a year. We love you little boy! Now for the crazy party pictures! BEWARE of crazy outfits!
