El Capitan....Glamping part 3

The next morning we all got ready to go on the Llama hike.  It was a short little walk up to a field where Llama just ran free.

You could pick up some hay and chase wildly after these Llama in an attempt to feed them which never worked out...so you stand by your friend and take pictures instead.

Trevin on a mission to pet one of these dudes...it didn't work out

The boys settled for the goats instead and the goats were all to happy to eat the nasty hay out of their hands.

All 'animal-ed' out and heading back down the hill.

We headed back to the cabin and let the kids run free again.  We found Ryden and Andrew quietly playing cards at a picnic table...

And Tessa and Trevin playing on the loft again...

Ryden did some exploring in the "woods" also.

It was time to get ready to go to the BBQ and music dinner the campground was throwing.  I told the boys that we could  have no devices throughout this whole trip and I come outside to see this...sneaky boys!

 We walked down to the BBQ and the kids were being silly by the campfire.

 After we feasted on some awesome BBQ, we went to watch the band play.  

 And I had some hang time with the little girls because we are bestie...

I simply had to organize this bottom picture.  It was quite hard to perfect the human pyramid but I think we were pretty close :)

 Time to roast marshmallows...or just sticks.  We seem to have left our s'more stuff back at the camp.

Back at the camp for one more organized game in the large grass area.

 The next morning it was time to pack up and go.  So sad..too bad.  Ryden got in one last bike ride with his homies.  He was old enough this year that we let him ride down to the store with his friends and no adults.  Jason would give him some money to buy a treat.  It was a rater big responsibility but he handled it great!

Ryden didn't make it back from his solo store bike ride in time for the group photo.  But look at all these crazy kids!

What a GREAT time we had!!!  Can't wait to start planning for next year.  Love this (hopefully) new tradition we started.

El Capitan...Glamping part 2

The next day we woke up to kids running and playing outside.  The boys ate a quick breakfast and headed out to hang with their friends.  I was just chilling' on the bed admiring the cool view from our cabin.

All we kept hearing about was the pool...can we go to the pool.?..can we get our bathing suits on?  When can we go?  First, we went on a small walk and then told the boys we could go to the pool after we hit up the beach.

 They were a little upset about having to go to the beach first...umm ok?  But they humored us and we had fun walking along the shore and climbing over rocks.

 Ryden was being a little moody so we just let him have some space to sit on the rocks and stare at the ocean.

After we 'tortured' the boys at the beach....we headed back to the campsite and let them FINALLY get in the pool.  Trev was excited to hang with Alexander...those two together are nothin' but trouble.

 Poor Bryon got roped into being the human barnacle...all the kids were hanging on him.

After the pool shenanigans were over, we headed back for some amazing 'taco soup' that I had cooked in the crockpot.

Followed by roasting of marshmallows...one of Trevin's highlights for sure.

 We couldn't find the littles forever and discovered them in the loft in our cabin playing animals.  I just heart these two...when they are getting along.

 I love each and every one of these lovely ladies that were on this trip with us...so much fun!

 Ended the night with some tree climbing....now this is how I remember my childhood.

El Capitan...Glamping part 1

I have been wanting to find a fun trip that we can turn into a yearly tradition.  My friend Deb suggested we get a bunch of families together and go "clamping" (glamorous camping).  So we gathered up the troops and headed to El Capitan.  How much crap can one family have for a weekend?

 I fell in love with this place the minute that we arrived!  Each family had an adorable cabin and we were all around a big grass area.  We pretty much had the whole area for our group.  First order of business?  Start a fire to roast some weenies.

 Of course, we were with the Smith family.  Trev and Tessa ate their dinner together.

And the other half of the Smith/MacMaster duos...Ry and Liv

 Tessa was attached at the hip to me on this trip which totally made my entire weekend!  She would always look for me and ask everyone "Where is Amy?"  Heart melted.  We are besties.

Jason thought it would be a great idea to bring the tent and set it up for the kids to play in.  That idea was shot down when we got in trouble and had to take it down.  It was fun while it lasted.

 Such a fun, chill group.  I am really confused by the blue balloon in this picture though...

It was so nice to just let all the kids run around and have fun together.  And everyone would just play in the big grass area.

 And we finished the first night with a hangout around the campfire while the kids had flashlights and went on a mission to find skunks and raccoons.....
