Legoland

Teresa had wanted to take Ryden to Legoland as a special birthday treat.  We finally got around to it in July.  We hit the water park first.  Trevin had a blast!  He could've stayed in that water all day long going down the small water slides over and over.  Ryden was happy just chillin' on the side with grandma.
After we were water logged, we dried off and headed to the Legoland part.  Ry was so excited that he finally got to ride the cars for the 6+ year olds since he was 6 now!  I got a quick flash forward of him in 10 years driving for real and a tear came to my eye...
Trevin got to drive as well...but only on the road for 3-5 year olds.
 Move out tha way!
Since it was summer time, the place was packed!!  When I had a Legoland pass back in the day, we got spoiled.  We would go when no one else was there and walk on all of the rides.  So waiting 20+ minutes for this fairy tale boat ride was not my cup of tea.
But the boys were having a blast and didn't seem to mind the heat or the lines.  Maybe it's because Grandma was with us.  Everything is better with Grandma.
We all started winding down, so we hit miniland and checked out the Star Wars exhibit.
One last time on one of Ryden's favorite rides...the huge slide.  Then it was time to peace out.  What a fun day we had...

Tahoe...Part 4

Our last day in Tahoe was spent exploring the woods behind Scott and Leslie's cabin.  Jason took Ryden on a bike so I took the two little ones to the forest.  Right away, they both found some pretty sweet sticks.

...before you ask...Yes, Trevin did pick out his own outfit.
They were really intrigued with the tiny stream of water and watched it for awhile.  I saw some random clothes and food wrappers in the distance and was afraid we were going to be invading someone's camp site....so I quietly told the kids to move on.
There is something about walking in nature that is so calming...until we had a full on meltdown about who was going to be the leader!
They spotted a bridge and both charged after it...trying to be the 'leader'.  They forgot about the melt-downs once they reached the bridge.
Jumping off stumps proved to be a great distraction as well.
We packed up the cabin and headed to Scott and Leslie's house in Reno, not too far away.  They live right on a golf course, so the kids were having a grand ole time running around.
 Baseball practice!
Trev found a few new friends...
We played in the community pool, took a nice bike ride, and managed to go out for an adults only dinner...to which I managed to take NO pictures.  We had such a great time!  Now back to Manhattan Beach.

Tahoe...Part 3

I believe Jason had the most fun on this day because it involved water skiing.  Scott and Leslie's friend was so nice to take us out on his boat for the day.
Of course, he is like a professional at every sport and this one was no different.  He was on that board forever..trying cool tricks.
He had a pretty cute audience as well.  The kids LOVED sitting at the front of the boat.
Scott was up next.  He was pretty stoked when he got up and stayed up for quite some time.
He bailed and Trev made sure he was ok for another round.
The kids loved watching all of the action.
 Up and at 'em again..
I tried also and was pleasantly surprised at myself.  I was able to get up...for about half of a second.  But better than nothing!  No pictures of me but there is a video floating around somewhere.  Jason then tried to be funny and tossed Ryden into the water.  Needless to say, he was NOT happy about it.
We headed back to the beach just in time for Trevin to have one of his famous melt-downs.  All because I was giving him a snack and he didn't want a snack....
It was quite the performance I must say.
I just let him do his thing.  Eventually, he came back over and all was well again.  He danced around and did some thumbs up.
The kids were happy and content just playing in the lake.
Back to the boat we went.  This time, it was to play on the giant raft.  I was sure the kids would not enjoy this one.  Boy, was I wrong.
Flying at full speed and watching from the boat...it's hard to tell if those are looks of fear or happiness.
Turns out that Trevin wasn't too keen on the raft idea...but the other kids loved it!
...so much that they wanted to go again...with ME this time.
Trevin watched from the sidelines this time.
If I'm being honest...I would have to say that this ride was a little crazy.  I was seriously holding on for dear life and was major impressed by these little people.  I was afraid I was going to knock one of them off!
I immediately regretted taking my hand off to wave at the camera.  I almost flew off!  I am not to great in the upper body strength department.
After all the boat fun, we headed back to the lake and did some last minute swimming before it was time to go home.
Such a fun day in the sun.  Lovin' Tahoe!
