El Capitan...Glamping part 1

I have been wanting to find a fun trip that we can turn into a yearly tradition.  My friend Deb suggested we get a bunch of families together and go "clamping" (glamorous camping).  So we gathered up the troops and headed to El Capitan.  How much crap can one family have for a weekend?
I fell in love with this place the minute that we arrived!  Each family had an adorable cabin and we were all around a big grass area.  We pretty much had the whole area for our group.  First order of business?  Start a fire to roast some weenies.
Of course, we were with the Smith family.  Trev and Tessa ate their dinner together.
And the other half of the Smith/MacMaster duos...Ry and Liv
Tessa was attached at the hip to me on this trip which totally made my entire weekend!  She would always look for me and ask everyone "Where is Amy?"  Heart melted.  We are besties.
Had to take some selfies with my life partner Angie.
The lovely Deb who organized this whole thing.  She is one of my favs!
 See...best friends forever.
These two!  While I'm coloring with Tessa...they are off taking selfies and talking about toots.
Jason thought it would be a great idea to bring the tent and set it up for the kids to play in.  That idea was shot down when we got in trouble and had to take it down.  It was fun while it lasted.
Such a fun, chill group.  I am really confused by the blue balloon in this picture though...
Look how great this little place is!!
It was so nice to just let all the kids run around and have fun together.  And everyone would just play in the big grass area.
And we finished the first night with a hangout around the campfire while the kids had flashlights and went on a mission to find skunks and raccoons.....
...to be continued.

The Getty

We decided it was time that we took a trip to The Getty since we have lived in LA for a few years now.  Teresa jumped on board and so did the Smiths.
The boys did fairly well for the most part.  They weren't as interested in all of the paintings are we were, but I remember being bored at that age as well.   They did love sitting on the walls outside and looking down on the road that we were just driving on.
They did have a cool kid's corner that kept their attention for a few more minutes.
Trev made himself at home in this cool bed that he called his "King Bed" and read several stories to himself.
One of my favorite parts was when we went into these caves that they had recreated.  The artwork was so amazing! And it was one of the only places that they let you take pictures.
Finally met up with the Smith girls and we headed to the outdoor garden.  Ry and Liv followed each other everywhere and his mood perked up a bit as well.
This maze thing was awesome to look at...I'm so formal with all my descriptions
The outdoor garden was a favorite.  If it wasn't so hot, we may have stayed there all day.
After a quick trip to the museum gift shop (Grandma is always a sucker and buys the boys something:) we decided to call it a day.  It's nice to do something that stimulates the brain once in a while.

More summer stuff

This summer continues to be so much fun!  We even got to sneak in some adult time with Courtney and Danny while Teresa had the boys.
We also got several pictures sent to us while the boys were with Grandma.  They looked like they never wanted to come home.  And when they are at Grandma's...they can pretty much wear whatever they want :)
And Grandma buys them cool lego print bathing suits
Lazy summer mornings...
Trips to the library to collect some prizes from the summer reading program.
What books to get?  So many to choose from.  I am so glad these boys like the library as much as I do.
Riding the train at the farmer's market
Dropping Ryden off at beach camp means some one on one time with Trev.  Of course, that usually involves some sort of sugary treat.
Trev really likes to dress up in Dada's clothes.
The boys and I went shopping at the Point which always calls for a picture in front of the colorful fish.
Another beach camp day, so we decided to hang out with our homie Tessa while we waited for the big kids to be done with camp.  We got ice cream...surprise, surprise
These little ice cream monsters
Tessa didn't bring her scooter but that didn't stop her.  She hitched a ride with Trevin and it was just the cutest thing I have ever seen!
They scootered all over the place...together
I got to have a mom's night out with some lovely ladies and we all went to see "Bad Moms"  I think the whole theater consisted of us.
More trips to the skateboarding park to work on our skills.
And some dinner dates with our homies, the Smiths.
