The whole time we were in Tucson, one boy would sleep in while the other was up and at em'. On Easter morning, Ryden woke up first to see what the Easter bunny brought him while Trev was still sawin' logs.
Ahwee and Papa got the boys a few things too...cactus salt shaker? Yes please.
I (or the Easter bunny) had gotten Ryden a glittery Michael Jackson glove. I was so excited to see him open it because I thought he would be so excited. Well..let's just say he was more excited over a pack of Extra gum my mom slipped in his basket when he wasn't looking. This dollar store basketball game from my mom was a major hit too..guess the Easter bunny isn't as cool as Ahwee.
Lazy bones jones finally woke up to inspect his basket.
He was excited about his "Gerald and Piggy" book
Thank goodness Trev restored my faith in the excitement of the silver glove. He put it on right away and proceeded to wear it throughout the duration of the trip. He lost it about 30 times so I'm sure the search and rescue team (aka GG) was happy when I ordered another set to be delivered to the house, just in case.
Time to dress in our Sunday best and take some photos....and eat ring pops. Because who doesn't consume a pound of sugar before 8am??
We headed off to church. Ryden was grumpy pants magoo and complained the whole time that he didn't want to go. Of course, when we picked him up from Sunday school after the service, he didn't want to leave. Trevin wore his glove all through Sunday school and even got several onlookers to smile and comment. At home, he de-robed but kept the glove on, of course.
We headed to Sara and Steve's for an Easter BBQ and egg hunt. When we arrived, Emma was putting on a show. My kinda girl..
Sara had pinterest'd her heart out and made the cutest birds nests and candy bark that were no more than a mere 3200 calories.
Papa and Jacob played some catch...
..and then we tried our best to get a cousin picture. That is as close as Trevin would get. The other cousins had cooties.
I made sure Trevin had a life vest on anytime he was even remotely close to the pool. I specifically said "not it" if he fell in the pool again. (Totally kidding...I would jump in again in a heartbeat) He sat on the edge and talked with Jacob.
We sent all the kids inside so the Easter bunnies could do their work..
The dogs were wondering what happened to all the kids..
Time to find the eggs! Oh but first, let us take some selfies (so annoying!) I love how you can see all of the cameras in the window reflection.
Ready...set...HUNT
Let's see all the goodies..Sara was so awesome to fill the plastic eggs with toys instead of candy (at my request. I know, I'm boring. My kid consumes enough sugar on a non-holiday day).
The highlight of Easter was when Aunt Chris busted out the confetti eggs she bought. Pa was her victim. This below picture is my favorite. Now she threw this full speed at Pa's head thinking it would break open. You can see the full egg (still intact..not broken) flying away from Pa's head. I only wish you could hear the cracking sound it made which happened to be Pa's skull, not the egg cracking.
In the end, she just broke the next one in her hand to save Pa's noggin. New tradition?
Froggy style, froggy, froggy style.
Trevin pretend pushing Jacob. Or least I think it was pretend. The look on Trevin's face may suggest otherwise.
The Davies' house is the best. No kid ever gets bored, that's for sure. So many things to do!
Back at home and Trevin rearranged his wardrobe.
Another outfit change for a few rounds on the slide that Papa built so perfectly.
After the long day, it was time to put on our Michael Jackson glove, Santa hat, and go to bed!
Great, great Easter!!!
