DC...Part 2

It was such a short trip to DC.  I felt like we got there...and then we had to leave.  But at least we got to spend some quality time with this little nugget.  His faces were priceless.
We decided to head to a park to get some energy out.  Max suggested we walk since it was right around the corner.  I guess his meaning of 'right around the corner' is different than mine.  Twenty minutes later, we arrived.
I love that Trev is so comfortable with anyone.  He will literally go up and talk to anyone and be there homie within a matter of minutes.  I guess that could be good or bad.
 Park time!
It's so nice to just sit back and watch the boys play...and stalk them by taking pictures from afar.
Ryden is really into monkey bars right now because he can go all the way across on his own.
So naturally, Trevin is into them too.
 Peek-a-boo
It kills me to see pics of Ryden because he always looks so grown up...Mr. Big Shot First Grader
The boys were playing on this fence and I looked away for a second.  When I looked back, Trevin had his shirt off.  "Like Dada"....hmmm
Notice his painted nails.  Max and Katie have a live in au pair and the boys went to her room to say hi.  They walk in a few minutes later with painted nails.  They were so excited about it so we just left it on.  The whole two days all Trev would say is "Where's the babysitter?  Can I go see the babysitter?"  He gets attached easily
Ryden's nails are painted also...hmmm
So that was all the pictures I got on our last day in DC.  We had such a great time on the East Coast but I was ready to come home and get back into our routine.  Plus, Ryden had to get back and graduate kindergarten!

DC...Part 1

After our amazing New York trip, it was time to pack up and ride the train to DC.  We were headed to visit our friends Max & Katie (Jason's best man at our wedding if that rings any bells).  We waited patiently at the train station and Teresa and I downed some Dramamine in hopes of eliminating the motion sickness of the train.  Trevin used his charm to talk Dada into buying him some candy.
Good luck trying to have a piece....
Ryden sat with Grandma, and the rest of us grabbed some seats together.
I kid you not, Trevin ate almost this entire bag of swedish fish....with a little help from Jason.  I immediately knew that was a bad idea.
He watched the ipad for a little bit and then complained that he was going to barf.  Luckily, he passed out shortly after and slept the whole train ride.  Chill out on the candy next time dude.
We all made it safely to DC without any barfing at all.  The generous hosts had all the ingredients for smores waiting for the boys...and a backyard fire pit that was perfect.
Trevin could care less about the roasting part.  Just give him the chocolate.
Ryden got pretty good at getting his marshmallow just right.  Trevin looked on with envy.
Mountain man Max
 And the lovely Katie
We all hit the hay early because the next day was tourist time!  We set out to do every touristy thing we could.  Riding the Metro was first...because the boys love doing that.
Our first stop:
The Washington Monument
Such a clear day...the monument was so beautiful...and tall!
Poor Max and Katie began to realize what a picture crazy family we are!
I had to take some pictures for Fly Little Guy (Independence Day post) and Trev was more than willing to help me out....
 Onward to the Lincoln Memorial
Maybe I should hire Max and Jason as my Fly Guy models.  They seem to be WAY more into it than my little dudes...
Models usually don't smile so Ryden nailed this shot...
We got a tad distracted by some baby ducks
Max is always a good time..he will pose for me when no one else will
I always love watching Teresa with the boys.  I know she is trying to educate them and Ryden is such a good listener.  Meanwhile, Trevin is probably asking if that guy is on a potty..
He sat for a few seconds....
Then got up and moved around.  I kept trying to get a good shot but this was the best I could do...
Oh well, frozen lemonade time!  It was quite hot outside, so this hit the spot.
My two dads.  Oh little Walker....so cute!
 The Ginsburgs
Max said the White House was a pretty far walk so I made Jason take a picture standing by it...way off in the distance...close enough right?
The boys were both getting pretty hot and tired, so I loaded them in the stroller and kept walking...we decided to make the long haul and go see the White House.  Can't come to DC and skip that part!
We made it!  And Ryden was thrilled!
 Trevin did a karate kick
Not even one smile.....alrighty, I'll just blur out the grumpy kid and focus on the bars around the White House (obviously, I still am learning how to use my dang camera)
A few group photos and then time to head home...
Few...lots of activities packed into one day!  We also went to a museum, but I didn't get any pictures there.  I was too busy learning stuff...
